We built Smart Sewa so households can book a qualified technician without juggling WhatsApp numbers or hoping word-of-mouth references hold up on the day. We are small, Colombo-based and launching carefully.

Make booking a qualified technician as easy as ordering food.
Most Sri Lankan households book plumbers, electricians and cleaners through word-of-mouth. The results are inconsistent: no fixed prices, no written warranty, no accountability if the work is poor and no easy way to get a different technician the second time.
We think an app can fix most of this. Not all of it — there is still a human on the other end who has to show up and do the job. But the app can at least set a fixed price up front, show you who is coming, keep a record of the job, and give you one place to raise an issue if something is wrong.
The honest version
We launched Smart Sewa in late 2026 as a mobile-first marketplace. Our customers book through the Android app, pay in cash on completion and rate the technician afterwards. We do not take payment up front and we do not process cards, mobile wallets or bank transfers at launch.
On the technician side, we check applicants by requiring their Sri Lankan National Identity Card number, a work-attire photo and their trade and years of experience. Our admin team reviews every application manually. We do not do police checks and we will not claim we do.
We are small. Our launch coverage is Colombo and nearby areas, and we are growing out from there as more technicians onboard. We would rather do a smaller area well than overpromise.
